House Concerts

A house concert is a private show for you and your friends, held in your own living room, backyard, or nearby private space. Why wait months or years for me to finally come to your town when you can bring me there yourself?

Here's how it works, step-by-step:

Step 1: Set up a date

Write me to let me know that you'd like to host a house concert. We'll set up a date that works for both of us.

  • Sets are usually anywhere from one to two hours with a short break. The schedule can be personalized to fit your needs.
  • A donation from guests is considered typical for most house concerts. As the host, you can charge a flat fee, or do a sliding-scale donation thing. It's up to you. We can also throw in a free CD for all attendees in exchange for a donation.
  • Don't worry about having a sound system — I'll bring a small PA if needed, but most house concert shows don't need amplification at all.

Step 2: Tell your friends

It's just like throwing a party. Call, email or mail invitations to your friend and family. A good rule of thumb is to let them know at least three weeks in advance of the show.

Make sure to include important details such as whether the show is non-smoking or BYOB, and what the amount of the requested donation.

Step 3: Rawk

I come to your house on the agreed-upon date and we totally rock the joint.

I can't wait to play for ya. Write me if you're interested and let's get something going.
