Image of John Otway The BBC reports that a song by obscure cult singer John Otway cracked the UK top ten, simply by involving his fan base. Otway pressed a limited edition disc of 11 songs and asked his fans to vote on which song should be released as a single. Advance orders of the single propelled Otway into the number nine position in the UK, alongside Oasis, Avril Lavigne and Pink.
