Impending Rawk
Hey, check it: Jesse Malin (previously written about here) has a new album out next month. I saw Jesse perform a mostly unplugged set at SXSW this year. I have pictures which I’ve forgotten to post. It was pretty awesome. Jesse does this sensitive singer-songwriter thing on record, but live he stumbles around on stage, flinging the mic stand around and being all punk and stuff like he did when he fronted D Generation.
On the way back from Austin, I met William Wisely on the airport shuttle. We talked about trading shows but I couldn’t imagine Willy with his blend of ’60s pop with a dash of Prince-esque rock n’ soul, strumming away in a tiny coffeehouse, so I tried to hook him up with some larger Seattle artists. He’s playing at the Rendevous next Thursday with Skip Peri.
