Direct a music video. Get a little famous. Win stuff.

And now for something completely different.

Eric Rice, podcaster extrordinaire (and the brains behind KSSX, Audioblog and Podcastroadshow) and I are partnering up for a contest based on my newest song, Dark Corners. Here’s the scoop:

So, you want to make a music video? Here’s how it works: make a music video out of Scott Andrew’s new song “Dark Corners“, submit it, and if your video is picked, you can win an iPod Shuffle and have your video featured on

Download the song, and make a music video that you star in, direct, or
produce. Be creative! All videos must be 320×240 in either Quicktime or
Windows Media format. The music videos will be judged by Scott, and the
winning video will be posted on the web at E-mail
submissions (or a link to your video) to:

All you auteurs out there have until July 31 to submit your videos. If you have a friend that’s into creative video, please pass this post along. If you have a blog, it would be really cool if you could post a link to the contest and help spread the word around. I should mention that (to my knowledge) no one has ever done a video to one of my songs before, so you could very well be among the first.

I’ve never done anything like this before, so I’m really looking forward to seeing the entries people come up with.

  1. Well, *technically* that’s a Pet Rock Stars song, and Shannon gets main songwriting credit for that.

Hey look, a hair! Let’s split it! :)
